After spectacular rounds in Birmingham and Abu Dhabi, Australia\u2019s sporting capital Melbourne, delivered a bumper crowd for the grand final with close to 45,000 supercross fans turning out over the two day event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
VIEW:<\/strong> 2023 Final Championship Standings<\/a><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n SX2<\/strong> In final two, Max Anstie<\/strong> catapulted out of the gates, and didn\u2019t look back claiming a decisive victory over Club MX\u2019s Cole Thompson<\/strong> and Shane<\/strong> McElrath<\/strong> in third, clinching the SX2 Championship with a race to spare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With no pressure in the final race, Max<\/strong> Anstie<\/strong> resumed his dominance, while Cole Thompson<\/strong> settled into second, and the in-form Luke<\/strong> Clout<\/strong> third. The first of the SX2 final\u2019s saw the Brit assert early dominance, navigating the set of challenging whoops to take control of the pack. Reigning SX2 champion, Shane McElrath\u2019s night came undone when a tough block lodged in his rear wheel resulting in a DNF upsetting his title chances. Max<\/strong> Anstie<\/strong> surged forward securing the victory, with Luke<\/strong> Clout’s<\/strong> strong showing earning him a commendable second place while Motoconcept\u2019s Carson Mumford<\/strong> rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
