Dean Wilson will bolster the lineup of British riders competing for world championship glory when Cardiff hosts the opening round of the 2022 World Supercross Championship, with the British Grand Prix taking place in Principality Stadium on Saturday 8th October, 2022.

The 30-year-old Scot will race in the WSX (450cc) class, alongside world class names such as two-time World Supercross champion Chad Reed from Australia, former World Motocross champion from Germany Ken Roczen, and former World Supercross champion and current AMA Supercross Champion, Eli Tomac, who will compete as a Wildcard at the British GP.

Wilson has yet to finalise and announce which of the 10 exclusively licenced Teams, he will compete with.

Wilson, who boasts a US Pro Motocross title to his name and a best of sixth in the World Supercross Championship in 2019, said, “Despite all my years competing in supercross in the USA, Iโ€™ve never had the chance to do so in front of a home crowd, so Iโ€™m naturally really excited for the new World Supercross Championship to be coming to the UK and to Cardiff. Hopefully Iโ€™ll be able to feed on that and challenge for the win, in front of my friends and family!โ€

When Principality Stadium is transformed into a dirt bike battleground on Saturday 8th October, 10 teams and 40 of the best riders from across the globe will do battle for over US$250,000 in prize money and international supremacy.
